Cuco

Cuco, born Omar Banos, is a singer, songwriter, and producer from Hawthorne, California. Since his teens, he has been shaping a distinctive lo-fi pop, blending the tenderness of Chicano soul with dreamlike textures carried by airy synths. A self-taught artist, he made his mark with his early self-released projects, Wannabewithu (2016) and Songs4u (2017), which spread across the internet with cult tracks like Lover Is a Day and Amor de Siempre. In 2017, the single Lo Que Siento brought him international success and led him to devote himself entirely to music. Signed to Interscope in 2019, Cuco unveiled his debut album, Para Mi, followed by Fantasy Gateway in 2022, crafted with producer Manuel Lara. He continued his evolution with the EP Hitchhiker (2023) and the track ICNBYH (2025), a soul ballad produced by Tom Brenneck and recorded with musicians from Thee Sacred Souls and The Roots. On stage, Cuco explores love, nostalgia, and melancholy in gently hypnotic performances that switch between English and Spanish, where his romantic ballads meet downtempo rhythms and dream-soaked Californian grooves.
